David's Bio Continued
David is best-known for his long-running stint at the Peg Leg
Bates Country Club in Kerhonkson, New York. Year after year
David regaled the off-season clientele with his witty and tuneful
medleys, earning him more admirers and followers than you can
count on one hand.
In
2002, the nearby Homowack Lodge suffered a summer setback when
the pin-changer on the bowling lane broke, and a hard-to-find
part put repairs on hold. Homowack’s management made the
phone call that would change the course of history: they invited
David to bring his unique song stylings to the Bowling Alley
at Homowack Lodge.
David
graciously stepped in, and his musical performances on the malfunctioning
bowling lane were the stuff that legends are made of.
Coincidentally,
Ken was hiding out in the Catskills from some angry and persistent
creditors. He happened to catch David’s act at Homowack
Lodge, and approached him to do the lion’s share of writing
and musical direction on That’s Kentertainment! without
taking any credit (although that is NOT how Ken worded his proposal.)
Lured
by promises of a wider audience for his trademark medleys, as
well as a steady paycheck, David signed on. He is still waiting
to perform one of his own medleys on That’s Kentertainment!-
much as he is awaiting economic recompense for his hours of
hard work. David has filed a lawsuit against Ken for breach
of contract, and also joined a class action suit against Ken
Kleiber organized by Webster’s Collegiate to prevent Ken
from using the word “talented” to describe himself.
Though
their lawyers are locked in a bitter battle, the on-air chemistry
between David and Ken is undeniable.
